Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy covers all DualyzeAI products:
- The DualyzeAI iOS / iPadOS / macOS app (a personal assistant with Chat, a decision-support "Choose" feature, and a Today view) — referred to below as "the App".
- The DualyzeAI Chrome extension (an AI-assisted webpage comparison tool) — referred to below as "the Extension".
Where behavior differs between the App and the Extension, this policy labels each section accordingly. Statements that begin with "DualyzeAI" without a platform label apply to both.
2. Information You Provide
App: text you type into Chat, and the topic/options/factors you enter when using Choose. This content is used only to generate the response or evaluation you asked for.
Extension: the URLs and text content of the webpages you ask it to compare.
DualyzeAI does not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying information to use either product.
3. AI Provider Connections
App: the App does not include any built-in AI of its own. To use Chat or Choose, you connect your own account with one of the following AI providers by entering an API key you create with that provider ("Bring Your Own Key"):
- Groq
- Mistral
- Google Gemini
- OpenAI
- Anthropic Claude
- DeepSeek
When you send a Chat message or run a Choose evaluation, the relevant text you typed — plus, where applicable, minimal calendar-derived context described in Section 5 — is sent directly from your device to the AI provider you connected, using that provider's own official API. DualyzeAI's own servers do not receive, forward, or store this content; see Section 7.
Each provider processes the data you send to it under that provider's own privacy policy and terms of service, which DualyzeAI does not control. Please review the current privacy policy published by your chosen provider before sending sensitive information.
4. API Credentials
The API key you enter for your chosen provider is stored only in your device's secure, OS-provided credential storage (Keychain on iOS/macOS). It is:
- used only to authenticate your requests to that provider,
- never sent to DualyzeAI's own servers,
- never displayed again on screen once saved (only a masked/obscured field), and
- deleted from your device immediately when you disconnect that provider in the App.
5. Calendar and Location (App only)
Calendar: if you grant Calendar permission, the App reads a limited window of your device's upcoming calendar events (via Apple's EventKit) to show today's schedule in the Today view. Calendar access is entirely optional, requested only when you choose to enable it, and denying or later revoking it simply means the Today schedule row and this feature are unavailable — the App does not repeatedly prompt you.
If you ask Chat a schedule-related question (for example, "what's on my calendar today?") while Calendar permission is granted, the App includes minimal calendar-derived context — only an event's title and start/end time, or that it is an all-day event — in that one request to your connected AI provider, so it can answer accurately. Event location, attendees, notes, organizer, and calendar name are never included, and no calendar content is ever sent unless your message is judged schedule-related. This is disclosed in the App at the point Calendar access is requested.
Location and weather: if you grant Location permission, the App requests your approximate current location a single time in the foreground (never continuous or background tracking) to show current weather for your area in the Today view, using Apple's own WeatherKit service. Location and weather data are never sent to any AI provider and are not persisted beyond the App's current in-memory session.
6. Local Application Data (App only)
The App stores the following locally on your device only, using standard app-local storage (not DualyzeAI's secure credential storage, and not synced to any DualyzeAI server):
- which AI provider/model you last connected (not the API key itself — see Section 4),
- your Chat conversation history,
- your Choose sessions and results, and any items you save,
- preferences you have confirmed for future Choose sessions.
The App does not require or create a DualyzeAI account, and none of this data is uploaded to or backed up by DualyzeAI. Uninstalling the App removes this locally stored data along with it.
7. DualyzeAI-Operated Services
App: DualyzeAI does not operate a backend server that receives, forwards, or stores your Chat/Choose content, calendar data, or weather/location data. Every AI request described in Section 3 goes directly from your device to the AI provider you connected. The only DualyzeAI-operated web infrastructure involved in the App is a static redirect page used solely as part of an optional, currently non-default connection method (OpenRouter); it relays a one-time authorization code back to the App and does not receive or store your Chat/Choose content.
Extension: in addition to the Gemini API described in Section 8, the Extension periodically downloads non-personal comparison-knowledge configuration data from DualyzeAI's own content-delivery service. These requests only fetch data (no webpage content, comparison text, or any other information you provide is included in them) and are used solely to keep the Extension's built-in comparison knowledge up to date.
8. Third-Party Services
App: your selected AI provider (Section 3) processes the content you send to it under that provider's own privacy policy and terms, available on that provider's official website. DualyzeAI does not share your content with any party other than the AI provider you yourself chose to connect.
Extension: the Extension uses the Google Gemini API. The URLs and text content of the pages you compare are sent to Google's servers. See Google's Privacy Policy for details on how Google handles that data. No data is shared with any other third party by the Extension.
9. Tracking and Advertising
Neither the App nor the Extension contains any advertising, analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDK, and neither uses any device advertising identifier or cross-app/cross-site tracking. DualyzeAI does not build an advertising or behavioral profile of you.
10. Data Control and Deletion
You can disconnect a connected AI provider in the App at any time; this immediately deletes that provider's stored credential from your device. Uninstalling the App or the Extension removes all of the locally stored data described above, since DualyzeAI does not keep a server-side copy.
Content already sent to a third-party AI provider (Section 8) is subject to that provider's own data retention and deletion controls, which you may need to manage directly with that provider — DualyzeAI cannot delete data on your behalf from a third party's infrastructure.
11. Security
API keys are stored using your device's OS-provided secure storage. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; protection against someone with physical or unlocked access to your device depends on your device's own operating-system security features.
